Proper ECU tuning in general requires significant engineering and infrastructure resources, human as well as physical. The e.motion system is a bit different from most ECU tuning methods, in that it does not touch the OEM ECU settings. We do not require that you ship us your ECU, we don’t need to tinker with the board, we don’t have to bench-tune it, it can’t get lost or damaged in shipping, and there is no down-time required.
E.motion is a stand-alone, proprietary ECU that is installed in-line with the standard engine ECU. The e.motion system provides a platform for fuel, boost, and timing changes that result in more power, more torque, and more fun, but without changing the stock ECU.
The e.motion system involves the fitting of the e.motion ECU and an OEM-quality wiring harness. Once fitted, the system is programmed to accept new engine settings, providing better response and more power. For diagnostic purposes, the system can very simply be disconnected, and the OEM harness reattached, and back again. No more “the Dealer over-wrote my ECU during service” situation.
